I have a lot of hobbies. unfortunately, They are all boring. I don't skydive or do anything terribly exciting. Here's what I enjoy:
I'm currently working on a Blake's 7 themed pillow. It'll be cool, really!
I really am going to get that name book published someday! I actually have outlines of several different books:
Irish Names--basic histories, meanings, pronounciations etc. What makes this book different, is that it's divided into different sections, so if yo are an Irish American who likes names like Erin and Shannon, you won't have to wade through pages of things like Toirdhealbhach and Aoibhgréine.
Scottish Names--pretty much the same as Irish names. There really aren't any good Scottish name books out there. I hope to write the first one!
Don't trust Your Baby Name Book!- a book de-bunking all of the under-researched dime-store baby name books out there.
Are you on the edge of your seat? I thought so. Good, because I have plenty more hobbies...
Making lamps out of musical instruments
OK, I've only done one of these, but I have plans for at least 2 more. OK, OK the one I did make is kind of ugly, and needs to be re-wired. I'm working on it! I'm working on it! I'm still ironing out the kinks!
Playing Renaissance Music
How can you resist a girl with a crumhorn?
Singing Sean-nós Music
Sean-nós is the traditional singing style of Ireland. to most people, it sounds like higly ornamented gibberish. In fact, most people in Ireland find it really annoying, and would rather listed to, say, Oasis. I like it, though! But then, i have devoted a large chunk of my life to the Annoying Pursuits. I also play the bagpipes.
